Unexpected Reflection

This is actually a reflection in the cellophane wrapping around a canvas board. The detail I could see in it really caught my eye: the window framing a cloud and blue sky; the laundry drying in front of the radiator below the window. So I couldn't resist taking a picture. :)

Suncatcher Projection

I know I have featured at least one projection through this suncatcher before. This is a different one, though. I just couldn't resist taking a picture of the sun shining through the suncatcher and through the pale rollerblind into the room as I thought it was so pretty.

Very Berry

I love walks during the late summer and autumn. Among the things that make me most aware of the time of year is the different berries in the hedgerows and their journeys of colour.

Thoughts of Autumn - Drilling

This image is one that for me is very evocative of this time of year. It makes me think of the early starts and the hum of the engines of tractors pulling drills in the fields in the early morning sunshine as next year's crop is planted. It makes me think of the cold air and the sight of rusting leaves on distant trees. It makes me think of the mixture of new life and old. It makes me think of autumn.

September Skies

(However, I realise I'm a smidge late with these!)
These photos were taken during the course of the same early September evening.

Another Ladybird

I know I posted a ladybird a few days ago but this is another day, another ladybird, another type of ladybird! I actually think the eyes on this particular one look evil or even "alien"-like!!! It's shadow makes it seem quite sinister and creepy to me, too. Who'd have thought something as seemingly benign as ladybirds could make anyone feel that way?!! I had a vague feeling that these ones eat the red one, though. I'm not sure if that's true, but if it is I guess they're not so benign after all. :(

Leaves in Shadow

I know I only posted a picture of fallen leaves the other day, but they are so evocative of these next few weeks. I particularly like the rough symmetry of this photo with half the leaves in shadow and half in the bright sunshine. Besides, just looking at crisp leaves makes me hear their rustle in my head!

Dew on Cobwebs

I know it's a bit early for thoughts of Hallowe'en, but I took this photo at the end of October last year and associated it with Hallowe'en at the time. Although, I suppose the bright morning sunshine does away with the whole ghoulish element! I suppose the whole positive/negative aspect of a picture is turned on its head with this one, though, what with the cobwebs being the main feature, thanks to the water on them, rather than being wispy frames that you see another scene through instead.
As I thought I might like to share some more Hallowe'en inpired photos before the month is out so I could get away with this one now. :)

Mushrooms in the Grass

I thought this was a photo I had got of what is apparently known as a "Fairy Ring". Then I realised the mushrooms are not positioned in a circle in this shot so I don't suppose that qualifies!

Ladybird on Garage Door

I just realised that today sees my 100th post on here, so I hope this qualifies as something a little special!

Cobwebs on a Weather Station

I loved the dew caught in the cobwebs and the blades of grass in the early October, reasonably early, morning sunshine.
