A Springtime Amble in the Garden
It was such a lovely warm and sunny early spring day (when I went outside anyway!) yesterday, and I was in such a joyful mood that I couldn't resist snapping away. Hence these pictures of hyacinths and daffodils. I know I've already posted some daffodils recently, but I love them so much and they seem to have such a short lifespan as the frosts and winds always seem to come and have their say to them no sooner than they appear.

Where There's a Shadow of Smoke There's...a Shadow of a Chimney
I liked these pictures that I took several days ago. I felt they were full of opposites: frost and sunshine; the frost implying it was cold enough to need indoor heating and the shadow of what was coming out of the chimney implying the heating was on inside the house; and the idea of the intangible - the shadow - representing the tangible - the chimney and rooftop.

A Day Full of Promise...
The ground was white with frost as far as I could see when I peeped out of my curtains. But the sun very soon melted the frost away before the morning was very old. The difference between March and November. Another sign that makes me think of spring and hope and of the year beginning to open out. :)

Hot Honey and Lemon
Last week when I was feeling a bit sad one day I suddenly fancied a cup of hot honey and lemon. I didn't used to like it much when I was younger, but I wanted something comforting so for some reason that's what I turned to. You might be wondering right about now why I felt the need to photograph it!:))) At first it just looked pleasing to my eye. But then I just liked the subtle changes between light, shadows and colours so much that I felt the need to keep repeating the process. :)))) Here are just a few of them (I've spared you from seeing them all, promise!:D).
